“한인 아이들이 집에서 자연스럽게 한국어와 책을 이어갈 수 있는 방법은 없을까?”
우리아이들 미국에서 한국어 유지하는 건 생각보다 훨씬 어려워요.
어려서 잘 쓰던 한국어도, 킨더가든 이후 영어 환경에 노출되면서 점점 잊혀지고, 부모님의 걱정은 커져만 갑니다.
게다가 미국에서 한국책을 구하기는 정말 어렵고, 무엇보다 너무 비싸요..
디지털 영상 콘텐츠만으로는 아이의 한국어 감각과 정서 발달을 채우기 정말 어렵지요.
그래서 몬티케이는 고민했습니다.
“한인 아이들이 집에서 자연스럽게 한국어와 책을 이어갈 수 있는 방법은 없을까?”
📘 그래서 시작된, "M북TI" 한국어 독서 프로그램
M북TI는 MONTI.K가 운영하는 독서 프로그램으로, 아이들이 프리스쿨 이후에도 지속적으로 한글을 접하고, 책을 통해 생각하고 표현하는 힘을 기를 수 있도록 설계되었습니다.

아이들은 매월 인기 전집세트와
매주 스테디 단행본 책을 집으로 가져가요.
부모님과 함께하는 홈 리딩(Home Reading)을 통해
자연스럽게 한국어 노출 + 독서 습관이 이어집니다.
단순히 교실에서 끝나는 스토리 타임이 아닌,
집으로 확장되는 연속된 독서 경험이 아이의 언어를 깊이 있게 성장시킵니다.
2️⃣몬티케이 졸업생 or 일반 친구들 – M북TI 애프터 클래스
프리스쿨 졸업 후에도,
M북TI 애프터 클래스를 통해 한국어와 책읽기를 계속 이어갈 수 있어요.
매주 진행되는 애프터 클래스로 :

💬 북토크(Book Talk) 시간을 가질수 있어요.
미국 유/초등학교에 다니더라도,

📘 MONTI.K’s Reading Program – M-BookTI: Keeping Korean and Books Alive at Home
“How can we help Korean children in the U.S. naturally stay connected to the Korean language and books at home?”
Keeping Korean alive isn’t easy for children growing up in the U.S.
Even kids who speak it fluently at a young age often begin to forget as soon as they enter kindergarten and become immersed in an English-speaking environment. Naturally, many parents start to worry.
On top of that, Korean books are difficult to find—and often surprisingly expensive.
And while digital videos can offer brief exposure, they’re not enough to truly support a child’s emotional development or language depth.
That’s why we at MONTI.K asked ourselves:
“How can we create a way for children to continue using Korean and reading books naturally, even at home?”
📘 That’s how our Korean reading program, M-BookTI, began.
M-BookTI is a reading program developed by MONTI.K, designed to help children continue building their Korean skills even after preschool—
and to strengthen their ability to think and express themselves through books.
🌱 Here’s how M-BookTI works
1️⃣ For MONTI.K Daycare & Preschool Students
Children take home a popular curated book set every month
and a steady weekly rotation of individual picture books.
Through home reading with their families, children are naturally exposed to Korean in their everyday environment—while also developing healthy reading habits.
This is more than just storytime at school.
It’s a continuous reading experience that expands into the home, helping children grow in both language and thought.
2️⃣ For MONTI.K Graduates or Local Friends "M-Book-TI After Class"
Even after graduating from preschool, children can continue learning Korean and reading through the M-Book-TI After Class.
Held weekly, this class includes:
📖 Korean language learning
📚 Independent and guided reading
💬 Book Talk time to express thoughts and emotions in Korean
Even while attending American elementary schools,
children will have a space where they can continue using Korean confidently and meaningfully.
